General Scholarship Award Information & Requirements

To qualify for the Harold & Jean Bobbitt, Sr. CTE Scholars Scholarship Award, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be from an underrepresented population (first-generation, minority, and/or underprivileged);
  • Must be admitted to a Missouri college, university or technical school;
  • Must be a degree seeking student majoring in a career and technical education (CTE) discipline;
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (previous recipients and college students).
  • Applicants must submit a completed application and required documents.
  • Applicants must submit an acceptance letter from the Missouri institution attending in the semester of application.
  • Recipients must meet the maximum scholarship awards of $1,500 to reapply.
  • Scholarships range in value and will be awarded based on available funds and need.
  • Scholarships will be awarded as approved by the Board.

Application Deadline is January 31, 2021. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.   Mailed applications must be postmarked by January 31, 2021.

Important:  All documents will be kept confidential and only used for the purpose of awarding STL Scholars Program scholarships.

Members of the STL Scholars Program Scholarship Committee will review applications, transcripts and references and determine recipients to receive the scholarship award.

Scholarship recipients will be notified on or before March 1, 2021. Scholarship recipients will be required to complete an in-person interview, submit a short Bio and sign a Photo Release form for marketing and news media purposes prior to receiving the scholarship award.

NOTE:  Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus and for the safety of family and friends, we will not host an in-person Scholarship Awards Ceremony this year.  Instead, recipients will be contacted to confirm a safe meeting location to receive scholarship award.

Disclaimer:

The amount of the scholarship awards varies and may be subject to change by the Board. Funds remaining in the scholarship account during one fiscal year will be carried over to the scholarship account of the next fiscal year. Students who have already received the maximum amount of $1,500 in scholarship awards are not eligible to apply.
